According to Free and Fair Election Network, Punjab's registered voters included 39.12 million males and 34.09 million females, highlighting a gender gap of 5.04 million in voter registration. Male voters in the province accounted for a turnout of 53.6%, casting 20.97 million votes, while female voters showed a turnout of 45.9%, with 15.65 million votes cast. The gender gap in voter turnout was recorded at 7.7 percentage points.

The number of rejected ballots in the Punjab Assembly election was 1,091,111, representing 2.9% of the total votes polled. This rejection rate has varied over the years, ranging from 0.8% in 1990 and 1993 to 3.1% in 2008. The province's voter population has seen significant growth, increasing from 16.4 million in 1970 to 73.2 million in 2024, which has correspondingly increased the number of votes cast from 10.2 million in 1970 to 37.7 million in 2024.
