Sargodha: A delegation from a prominent Chinese educational, scientific, and agricultural research company visited the University of Sargodha to explore potential collaboration in agriculture, research, commercial projects, and academic exchange. The delegation, led by General Manager Luan Xiujing, held discussions with Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas to review ongoing collaborative projects and discuss future initiatives.

According to University of Sargodha, the focus of the meeting was on agricultural mechanization, drone-based crop spraying, commercial ventures, and expanding academic collaboration between Pakistan and China. The vice chancellor informed the delegation about the university's research activities, particularly in agriculture, and emphasized efforts to strengthen industry-academia linkages. He noted that the university was actively involved in the commercialization of research, having introduced more than 80 patents in recent years.

Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas highlighted several agreements the university has signed with Chinese institutions and companies in fields such as education, agriculture, technology, pharmaceuticals, medicine, and trade, which are contributing to stronger bilateral cooperation. The Chinese delegation expressed satisfaction with the progress of ongoing collaborative projects and reaffirmed its commitment to expanding cooperation with the university. They also extended an invitation to UoS officials to visit China to further bolster academic and industrial partnerships.

The meeting was also attended by Director of the Pakistan Institute of China Studies Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan and Prof. Dr. Abdul Rehman of the College of Agriculture. Prof. Abbas later presented a souvenir to Mr. Luan Xiujing.
