PHEC Committee Evaluates University of Sargodha’s Academic Standards

SARGODHA: The Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Accreditation Committee visited the University of Sargodha to assess its academic standards, governance, research activities, and institutional development. The visit was part of a quality assurance initiative directed by the Chief Minister of Punjab.

According to University of Sargodha, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas welcomed the committee and provided a detailed overview of the university's academic progress, research achievements, infrastructure advancements, and student welfare efforts. He emphasized ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing teaching quality, research productivity, industry partnerships, and community involvement.

The meeting included Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan, deans, directors, administrative officers, and senior university officials. During their review, the committee examined the College of Agriculture's facilities, research projects, and learning arrangements, while also engaging with faculty and students to understand the university's academic environment and research culture.

Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas highlighted the university's commitment to creating an internationally competitive academic atmosphere through continuous improvement in teaching, research, and innovation. He mentioned alignment with national development goals and focus on market-oriented programs, interdisciplinary research, and industry collaboration.

Specifically regarding the College of Agriculture, he noted the university's focus on modern agricultural education and research to tackle challenges in food security and sustainable farming. The university is promoting applied research in areas like precision agriculture and smart farming technologies to support productivity and the farming community.

The Vice Chancellor expressed that the accreditation process would offer opportunities for institutional enhancement, better academic governance, and the reinforcement of quality assurance consistent with international standards. The PHEC committee acknowledged the university's academic initiatives and observed its educational and research facilities.
