KARACHI: Her Excellency the First Lady of Pakistan, Ms. Asifa Bhutto Zardari, attended the Mango Festival 2026 as the Chief Guest at an event organized by the Foreign Affairs Liaison Office (FALO), Karachi, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the Karachi Marriott Hotel. The festival aimed to showcase Pakistan's agricultural heritage, promote export potential, and strengthen engagement with the diplomatic community.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, the event was part of FALO Karachi's public diplomacy initiatives. It was attended by the Honourable Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah; Ambassador Muhammad Khalid Jamali, Additional Foreign Secretary; members of the diplomatic corps; UN representatives; business community members; and other distinguished guests. Mr. Muhammad Irfan Soomro, Director General of FALO Karachi, expressed gratitude to the First Lady, highlighting her role in promoting Pakistan's image domestically and internationally.

The Chief Minister of Sindh praised the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and FALO Karachi in organizing the festival, emphasizing its role in enhancing Sindh's agricultural profile and promoting economic diplomacy. Ambassador Jamali commended FALO Karachi for its proactive diplomatic outreach and its role as a bridge between various stakeholders.

The festival celebrated Pakistan's mango varieties, including Sindhri, Chaunsa, Langra, and Anwar Ratol, and featured cultural performances, exhibitions, and networking opportunities. Despite being held towards the end of the mango season, the festival managed to display an impressive collection of mangoes.

The Mango Festival 2026 underscored FALO Karachi's dedication to promoting Pakistan's image through public diplomacy and fostering closer diplomatic and economic ties.
