Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi marked the 80th birth anniversary of the esteemed poet and intellectual Fehmida Riaz with a special event titled "In Memory of Fehmida Riaz." The gathering at the Josh Malihabadi Library witnessed participation from literary figures, poets, scholars, students, and admirers, who came together to honor the lasting impact of her work. Zehra Nigah, a distinguished poetess, presided over the ceremony, with Mohammad Ahmed Shah, President of the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, serving as the chief guest.

According to the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the event featured reflections from prominent literary personalities such as Dr. Fatima Hasan, Murtaza Solangi, and Fazil Jameeli on Fehmida Riaz's achievements and contributions. The discussions highlighted her poetry, intellectual vision, and commitment to freedom of expression. A cake-cutting ceremony concluded the event in celebration of Riaz's birth anniversary.
