Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari marked the 11th anniversary of the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar attack by honoring the memory of the children and staff killed on December 16, 2014. The attack, which claimed the lives of numerous innocent victims, serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against terrorism in the country.
In his message, President Zardari expressed solidarity with the bereaved families, acknowledging their enduring pain and resilience. He emphasized that the nation continues to honor the strength shown by the APS families, who have turned their grief into determination for Pakistan’s future.
The president reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism, stating that there will be no tolerance for those who support or justify such acts. He declared that negotiations with individuals or groups that target the state or its children are not an option.
Zardari also condemned what he described as Indian-sponsored terrorism, claiming that evidence of India’s involvement in destabilizing activities within Pakistan is well-documented. He assured that Pakistan will persist in exposing these actions and defending its citizens.
The president issued a stern warning to those who facilitate or support terrorists, asserting that both the people and armed forces of Pakistan are resolute in their mission to defeat them, regardless of any political or ideological guise.
In his tribute to security forces, law enforcement, and intelligence services, Zardari recognized their critical role in preventing further tragedies. He affirmed that Pakistan will relentlessly pursue justice against terrorists and their enablers.
The memory of the APS attack victims, he concluded, fortifies the nation’s resolve to thwart the enemies of peace and ensure such horrors are never repeated.
