World Culture Festival Karachi Highlights Environmental Issues through Theater

Karachi: The ninth day of the 38-day World Culture Festival Karachi 2024 witnessed a compelling theater play titled “Unfootball Hai Dunya Mere Ahe” at Auditorium II, organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi. The play, directed by Yasmin Ismail and featuring late theater director Imran Aslam’s work, brought together artists such as Faiza Qazi, Umeed Riaz, Ayesha Sheikh, Hina Umeed, Khalid Anim, Maria Hussain Sheikh, and Khalifa Sujeeruddin.

According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, “Unfootball Hai Dunya Mere Abe” delves into critical issues of environmental protection, sanitation, and the impact of smoke on food and health. The narrative aims to address the anxiety surrounding these topics while imparting a lesson applicable to both children and adults. It also included enjoyable musical performances, enhancing the experience for the attendees, including a significant number of school students.

The ongoing World Culture Festival, which will continue until November 2, offers a rich tapestry of cultural events. Tickets are available through the Arts Council and Ticketwala.com, with members receiving a 50% discount.
