UVAS Launches AI Admission Assistant to Streamline Student Applications

LAHORE: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore has introduced an AI Admission Assistant to aid students and other stakeholders in the admission process. This initiative marks the institution's first move towards integrating artificial intelligence into its systems, with applications for undergraduate programs open until July 24, 2026.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the AI Admission Assistant was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani during a ceremony at the City Campus. The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman, Convener of the Admission Committee, Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashraf, and other senior faculty members. Prof. Rabbani highlighted the university's commitment to adopting emerging technologies, announcing plans to introduce AI-based learning and academic support systems across all degree programs. He stated that artificial intelligence is expected to play a significant role in enhancing teaching and learning, as well as student engagement, aligning with national goals for AI-driven development.

Prof. Rabbani also emphasized the potential of the AI-Powered Admission Assistant to enhance accessibility to information and streamline communication, setting the stage for future AI-enabled initiatives at UVAS. Director Information Technology Rizwan Saleem elaborated on the AI assistant's capabilities, explaining how it provides information on admissions, eligibility criteria, and available degree programs. UVAS offers 16 undergraduate programs, with the deadline for application submissions set for July 24, 2026.
