Sargodha: The University of Sargodha (UoS) marked Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with fervor, embracing a “Marka-E-Haq” theme to highlight national unity and pride.
The ceremony, held outside the Vice Chancellor’s Office, featured Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas as the chief guest. The event commenced with a Guard of Honor by the University Security Wing, setting a solemn tone for the celebration.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, along with Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Sarwar Awan and other university dignitaries, performed the flag hoisting. A cake-cutting ceremony followed, adding to the day’s festivities.
Special prayers were offered for the country’s peace and prosperity, while students performed national songs, enhancing the patriotic atmosphere.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas emphasized Independence Day as a time for renewed commitment to national progress. He honored the Armed Forces for their role in maintaining Pakistan’s sovereignty and highlighted their recent success in the “Ma’rakah-e-Haq” operation against Indian aggression.
The day’s celebrations were further enlivened by sports activities organized by the Directorate of Sports, including basketball, football, and cricket matches, as well as karate demonstrations, adding to the event’s energy.
