University of Sindh to Launch Tree Plantation Campaign on World Earth Day

Jamshoro, The University of Sindh in Jamshoro is set to mark World Earth Day with a tree plantation campaign and awareness rally. This green initiative is scheduled for April 22 and will be inaugurated by the esteemed Sheikh Al-Jamia Sindh.

According to University of Sindh, the Department of Geography has organized the event aimed at fostering environmental awareness and contributing to Earth’s preservation. The ceremony is slated to take place in front of the Allama II Qazi Central Library. Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, Sheikh Al-Jamia Sindh, will preside over the opening, with the participation of Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Sattar Shah and Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences Faculty Professor Dr. Agha Asad Noor Pathan.

Dr. Sajumal Meghwar, Chairman of the Department of Geography, has extended an invitation to all university faculty, officers, staff, and students to participate fully in the rally and tree planting campaign, emphasizing the collective responsibility towards environmental stewardship.

The initiative reflects the university’s commitment to ecological conservation and the educational role it plays in shaping sustainable practices within the community.
