University of Sindh Awards Scholarships Worth Rs 15.96 Million to 409 Students

Jamshoro: The University of Sindh, under the stewardship of Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, has awarded scholarships totaling Rs 15.96 million to 409 deserving students. The scholarships were distributed during a ceremony at the Institute of Commerce and Management on Thursday.

According to University of Sindh, Rs 13.572 million was allocated to 348 students under the Need Cum Merit Scholarship program, while another Rs 2.387 million was awarded to 61 students through the Sindh Educational Endowment Scholarships. The event was attended by several dignitaries from the university, including Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Sattar Shah and other faculty leaders, as well as local government officials involved in educational funding.

Vice Chancellor Kalhoro emphasized the transparent and timely distribution of the scholarship funds, intended to alleviate the financial burdens on students and support their academic pursuits. He highlighted the university’s receipt of significant funding shares from both the Sindh and Federal Higher Education Commissions, as well as various endowment funds, underscoring the institution’s commitment to supporting its students regardless of their financial background.

Further, Dr. Kalhoro urged students to engage with the National Incubation Center in Hyderabad, which provides resources and training to help them transition from academic to professional environments. He stressed the importance of practical skills alongside academic knowledge in today’s job market and encouraged students to take advantage of the opportunities available for starting their own ventures under the guidance of experienced mentors at the NIC.
