University of Sargodha to Establish First Pakistani Public University Campus in China

Sargodha: The University of Sargodha has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Changjiang Li Autonomous County Government in Hainan Province, China, marking a historic move to establish a joint overseas campus. This initiative positions the university as the first public-sector Pakistani institution to set up an academic base in China, fostering bilateral academic exchange and regional integration under the framework of Pak-China cooperation.

The signing ceremony, held in Changjiang Li, was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas and Chief Mayor Liang Ming. Both parties expressed determination to advance the project collaboratively and efficiently.

Chief Mayor Liang Ming commended the University of Sargodha’s delegation, describing the initiative as a visionary advancement in Pak-China higher education relations. He lauded Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas for his progressive leadership and efforts in establishing academic connections between the two nations.

Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas highlighted the strategic importance of this collaboration, noting that the joint campus will offer academic programs and serve as a hub for cross-cultural understanding and research. He emphasized the university’s commitment to internationalization, stating that this endeavor embodies the belief that quality education transcends borders.

The University of Sargodha expressed gratitude to the Changjiang Li Government for their support and hospitality, anticipating the creation of a model institution reflecting shared aspirations between Pakistan and China.
