NUST Unveils 2025 Internship Program for Global Students

Islamabad: The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) launched its annual flagship initiative, the NUST Internship Program for International Students 2025 (NIPIS’25), at an opening ceremony on July 14, 2025. The program is designed to provide international undergraduate students with professional exposure and cultural exchange opportunities.

NIPIS’25 has attracted 33 international interns from 10 countries, including Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Mauritius, Palestine, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The program offers these students the chance to work with NUST’s leading departments, research centers, and partner industries.

At the opening ceremony, Ms. Maryam Akmal, Head of Placements, welcomed the students and emphasized NUST’s commitment to fostering a dynamic environment for international collaboration. The event also included orientation briefings from Assistant Director Hostels, Mr. Muhammad Usman Ahsan, and Chief Security Officer, Mr. Muhammad Sajjad Ahmad, who provided information on hostel facilities and campus safety.

Pro-Rector RIC, Dr. Rizwan Riaz, addressed the attendees, highlighting the significance of international academic exchange in today’s world. He encouraged the interns to embrace the academic and cultural experiences at NUST, noting the role such programs play in shaping globally aware youth.

The ceremony featured a video presentation showcasing memorable moments from last year’s program, underscoring the initiative’s transformative impact. NIPIS’25 is set to offer a comprehensive experience, with professional internships, industrial visits, skill-based workshops, cultural excursions, and networking events over the next four weeks.

The program exemplifies NUST’s dedication to fostering international goodwill and empowering future leaders through academic and cultural immersion.
