University of Sargodha Partners with Ahad International to Launch Pharmaceutical Company

Sargodha: The University of Sargodha has entered into a joint venture with Ahad International Pharmaceuticals Limited to establish a pharmaceutical company focused on producing quality medical products. This move aims to leverage public-private collaboration to enhance public health research and promote pharmaceutical commercialization.

The agreement was formalized after receiving approvals from the University’s Syndicate and the Finance and Planning Committee. The signing ceremony took place in a special meeting led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaisar Abbas, with senior officials from the university and representatives from Ahad International Pharmaceuticals in attendance.

The new company will be set up in accordance with the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) Act of 2012 and the Drugs Act of 1976. It will have a shareholding structure, with the University of Sargodha holding a 51% stake and Ahad International Pharmaceuticals Ltd, registered under the Companies Act of 2017, holding 49%.

This collaboration is expected to bolster research in public health and facilitate the commercial distribution of pharmaceutical products, marking a significant step in the region’s medical and educational landscape.
