Rawalakot: The University of Poonch Rawalakot, in collaboration with the Sadhan Educational Conference, held a scholarship distribution ceremony at the Faculty of Agriculture conference hall, recognizing and supporting the academic pursuits of both male and female students.
According to University of Poonch Rawalakot, the event featured prominent figures including Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Zakaria Zakir, who emphasized that scholarships are a societal commitment to student success, not mere charity. The ceremony was chaired by Shahzeb Shabbir, President of Sadhan Educational Conference, and attended by other dignitaries such as DIG Poonch Shahyar Sikandar and Commissioner Poonch Dwitharan Waheed Khursheed. Dr. Zakir highlighted the historical significance of the educational movement started by the conference, originally known as “Ek Mithi Ata,” which contributed to the development of key leaders like Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan of the Azadi Kashmir Movement.
The event also underscored the longstanding partnership between Jamia Poonch and the Sadhan Educational Conference in promoting education and community engagement. Speakers at the ceremony, including Dr. Muhammad Rahim Khan and Sardar Muhammad Shaukat Khan from the UK Chapter of the conference, reiterated the importance of alumni giving back to their institutions and society, echoing the conference’s foundational goals set since its renaming in 1934.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of scholarship checks, symbolizing the community’s investment in the next generation of leaders and professionals.
