Karachi: Dow University of Health Sciences initiated its week-long Independence Day celebrations with the All-Karachi Quiz Competition “Azm-e-Alishan 2.0” at Moin Hall, Dow Medical College. The event, featuring intellectual challenges for students across Karachi, set the tone for a series of events culminating on August 15.
According to Dow University of Health Sciences, the quiz competition attracted teams from various city universities, emphasizing Dow University’s commitment to fostering academic excellence and mental agility among students. Registrar Dr. Ashar Afaq, who served as the chief guest, stressed the importance of such competitions in enhancing students’ cognitive abilities.
The competition began with a preliminary round where teams answered 20 questions to qualify. This was followed by multiple rounds, including a unique audio-visual segment, which tested teams’ abilities to recognize images and sounds under pressure. The final round saw teams from Jamia Al-Rashid, Karachi Institute of Medical Sciences, and the University of Karachi competing for top honors.
The event concluded with awards being distributed to the winners. Jamia Al-Rashid claimed the first place, followed by the Karachi Institute of Medical Sciences and the University of Karachi. The competition not only tested the students’ knowledge and quick thinking but also provided a platform for showcasing their academic prowess in a competitive environment.
