Lahore: A special ceremony organized by the Teaching Staff Association of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, marked World Teachers' Day at the Chemical Seminar Hall. According to University of Engineering and Technology, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir emphasized the critical role of teachers in the intellectual and professional development of students. He announced upcoming selection boards for the Associate Professor and Professor cadres, following the completion of promotions from Lecturer to Assistant Professor and from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor. Dr. Munir highlighted the importance of transparent career advancement opportunities to improve teaching and research quality at the university.
The Vice Chancellor underscored the need for modern teaching methodologies, urging faculty to integrate technology and interactive techniques alongside traditional lectures. He stressed the importance of developing students' critical thinking and problem-solving skills to meet evolving educational requirements. President of the Teaching Staff Association Prof. Dr. Muhammad Shoaib praised the Vice Chancellor's efforts in managing financial challenges and supporting faculty welfare, including timely salary payments and promotion processes. The ceremony concluded with the distribution of awards and a luncheon for attendees.
