Lahore: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore held a significant event to inaugurate the UET Lahore Alumni Entrepreneurs Chapter, featuring participation from over 40 prominent CEOs and industry leaders nationwide.
Engr. Ahmad Naveed, head of the Alumni Office, addressed the attendees, shedding light on the office’s strategic initiatives. These include efforts to engage globally with alumni, bolster scholarship funding, and enhance student support systems, alongside fostering collaborations with various chapters. He highlighted the increasing involvement of alumni in extending UET’s reach and ensuring its sustainability.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir delivered a keynote speech, emphasizing the university’s strides in academic innovation and infrastructure development. He expressed confidence in UET’s financial health and lauded the alumni community’s support, describing it as vital to the university’s advancement. Dr. Munir also pointed to plans for international alumni chapters and urged further cooperation.
Attendees praised Dr. Munir’s leadership and the positive changes at UET Lahore. The Alumni Office’s performance and commitment received considerable recognition from those present. The event’s highlight was the unanimous election of office bearers for the new chapter, including Engr. Waseem Nazir as President and Engr. Ahmad Bilal Mehboob as Vice President, among others.
Commemorative shields were presented to the participating CEOs by the Vice Chancellor, acknowledging their contributions. The ceremony concluded with a group photograph, capturing the launch of this pivotal initiative.
