LCF Project Team of UoH participated in an exhibition which was held on behalf of the ORIC

Haripur, January 01, 2023 (PPI-OT):LCF Project Team the University of Haripur participated in an exhibition which was held on behalf of the ORIC. Different items including handicrafts, vocational products and interior design items were presented in the stall. These items were entirely made by the disabled members, transgenders and women from Hazara division.

The stall attracted the students and the audience due to unique looking products. Through such steps we can help members of the backward community to bring a change in their lives and find ways to generate income.

Three Days Training Workshop on Accounting Software: QuickBooks organized by Department of Management Sciences

Haripur, December 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):A Three Days Training Workshop on “Accounting Software; QuickBooks” was organized by Department of Management Sciences, The University of Haripur, on 20-22nd December, 2022. Dr. Abdul Haseeb, Assistant Professor, Department of Management Sciences was the Principal organizer and Trainer of this workshop. Thirty-three students got registered and participated.

The Workshop was aimed at educating the participants about computerized accounting for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The Hands on practice will help university students in developing skills that can be useful in their professional life.

Chairman Department of Management Sciences, Prof. Dr. Abdul Majid gave closing note and appreciated the efforts of Trainer and organizers for successfully conducting this training workshop. He also appreciated students for their participation and encouraged them to always learn the market oriented skills through these types of training workshops. In the end, Prof. Abdul Majid Distributed certificates among organizers and participants.

Two Days Hands on Training Workshop on Mushroom Farming on Commercial Scale organized by Department of Microbiology and Department of Food Science and Technology

Haripur, December 19, 2022 (PPI-OT):A two Day Workshop on “Mushrooms Farming at Commercial Scale” was organized by Department of Microbiology in collaboration with Department of Food Science and Technology, The University of Haripur UoH on 15-16th December. 2022. The Workshop was aimed at educating the students and participants on technology related to mushroom farming and cultivation as well as developing entrepreneurship in mushroom cultivation.

The hands on training will help in developing skills of university students and participants that can be useful for livelihood of local community. Fifty participants including university students, faculty members from other departments and local farmers from Abbottabad and Galiyat also received the hands on training.

The resource persons Mr. Muhammad Zeeshan and Mr. Tahir Naveed Farooq explained theoretical and practical aspects of edible mushrooms culturing. They explained composting, spawning, casing, pinning, and cropping. Chairman Department of Microbiology Dr. Syed Muhammad Ali thanked the resource persons Mr. Muhammad Zeeshan and Mr. Tahir Naveed Farooq.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shafique Ur Rehman appreciated efforts of the Focal Person for the Workshop Dr. Sadia Alam, Associate Professor and all faculty members from Department of Microbiology for successfully conducting the workshop. Vice Chancellor, UoH distributed certificates among organizers and participants.

Two Days Blood Donation Camp at the University of Haripur organized by SMT and Department of MLT

Haripur, December 15, 2022 (PPI-OT):The Department of Medical Lab Technology (MLT) in collaboration with Save the Mother Trust (SMT) organized two days blood donation camp on December 13th and 14th at The University of Haripur to help the Thalassemia patients.

The blood donation camp was supervised by Dr Ghufran Uddin, Assistant Professor MLT and Mr Shaoib (Chief Organizer SMT) to ensure a healthy and safe procedure of blood collection under standard protocol. The SMT staff and senior students enrolled at Department of MLT actively participated in the donation camp where students of various departments, faculty, and staff voluntarily donated blood.

A complete blood profile was performed for all volunteers along with body weight and medical history and those fulfilling donor’s criteria were processed for donation. A total of 113 blood bags were collected that will be screened for blood borne pathogens and a safe blood will be used for thalassemia patients at SMT.

The Honourable Vice Chancellor also visited the donation camp on second day and appreciated the efforts of SMT, Department of MLT and volunteer organizers who put efforts together for this noble service to community. The VC also advised to award certificate to volunteer donors and organizers and emphasized that such events should be organized frequently.

Haripur, December 02, 2022 (PPI-OT):It is for the information of all concerned that full dress rehearsal for convocation will be held on campus at 12 o’clock noon time on the 5th of December 2022.

In this connection, all registered graduates are hereby informed to collect your gowns and invitation Cards from the vendor setting in examination section on 5th of December from 0900 o’clock to 1130 o’clock via payment of Rs. 250/- as rent and Rs. 1000/- as security amount refundable on return of gown to the vendor on the same day (As communicated by the Vendor).

Haripur, November 30, 2022 (PPI-OT):It is for the information of all concerned that the following scholarships have been announced for the students of University of Haripur through Student Financial Aid Office.

Pakistan Professional Development Academy- 01 Scholarship

1. Students of Undergraduate Programs. (Semester 1 to Semester 3rd only)

2. In case of fresh students, if the student is in 1st semester then, 70% marks in F.Sc.

3. Student having CGPA 3.25 or above.

4. Monthly Household salary from all resources should not be more than PKR 35,000.

5. Student must not be availing any other scholarship.

Akora Seeds Nowshehra- 04 scholarships in fields of Agricultures Sciences

3. In case of fresh students, if the student is in 1st semester then, 70% marks in F.Sc.

4. Student having CGPA 3.50 or above.

5. Student must not be availing any other scholarship.
