RAWALPINDI: A multifaceted event focusing on Kashmir Exploitation Day was held at the Punjab Arts Council, Rawalpindi, featuring a photo exhibition, documentary film screening, and a protest rally. The event aimed to shed light on human rights violations in Kashmir and drew significant participation from political leaders, social figures, and students.
Syed Shahid Iftikhar Bukhari, the chief guest and Director of Agriculture, Rawalpindi Division, addressed the media, stating that the RSS agenda had failed and criticizing the Modi government’s approach to Kashmir. Bukhari highlighted that the past six years had seen record levels of human rights violations in the region. He called upon global powers to intervene and support Kashmiris’ right to self-determination as outlined by United Nations resolutions.
The event concluded with participants chanting slogans against India’s actions in Kashmir, demanding freedom and self-determination for the region.
Muhammad Shakoor, Director of the Arts Council, paid homage to the sacrifices made by the people of Kashmir. He noted that despite losing countless lives and enduring brutalities, the Kashmiri struggle for independence persists.
