Seminar Explores the Role of Technology in Pakistan’s Fisheries Sector

Mardan: The Department of Zoology at Women University Mardan recently organized a seminar titled “Fisheries Resources and Disruptive Technologies in Pakistan,” focusing on the potential of innovative technologies to transform the country’s fisheries sector.

Dr. Muhammad Zubair Anjum, an assistant professor at Pir Meher Ali Shah-Arid Agriculture University in Rawalpindi, delivered the keynote address. He discussed the impact of modern technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Biofloc systems, and Biotechnology, on aquaculture and fisheries management. Dr. Anjum emphasized the potential of these technologies to improve sustainability, efficiency, and growth within the industry.

The seminar drew attendance from faculty members and students, fostering discussions on sustainable practices and the integration of new technologies in aquaculture. The event aimed to enhance knowledge and inspire further research and innovation in the field.
