Rawalpindi Commences Mourning Processions in Remembrance of Hazrat Ali


Rawalpindi, The city observed the commencement of the international days of mourning on Saturday, marking the martyrdom of Ameerul-Momineen Hazrat Ali Ibn Abi Talib (a.s.). Processions were held as a part of the observance, with participants paying their respects to the Lion of God.



According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the processions began with the retrieval of Hazrat Ali’s (a.s.) coffin at Muhammadi Masjid New Katariyan and Masjid Jafaria Dhok Rata, Rawalpindi. The events were organized by Khatun Jannat Trust and Anjuman Sadat wa Mominin respectively, with the latter established by the late Babu Gholam Mustafa Jafari.



Allama Syed Qamar Haiderzaidi, speaking during the procession, highlighted the attributes of Hazrat Ali (a.s.), revered for his knowledge, valor, piety, and justice. The mourners were reminded of the Prophet Muhammad’s (s.a.w.) regard for Hazrat Ali (a.s.) as the paragon of justice among his companions.



Under the guidance of Bawasyid Qasim Ali Shah Kazmi, further observances were held at Mohalla Sakhi Shah Pyara Chauhar Harpal, where speakers, including Zakir Samar Abbas Damra, underscored Hazrat Ali’s (a.s.) unique distinction as the individual born inside the holy Kaaba.



The processions also saw the participation of other dignitaries, including Ghulam Farid Jaafar and Sheikh Aqeel Abbas, who delivered addresses on the life and virtues of Hazrat Ali (a.s.). Various Imambargahs, including Qasr Khadija Al-Kubra and Qaim Al Muhammad Ali Farash, held special memorial services as part of the mourning days.
