Rawalpindi: During the International Tenth of Karbala, remembrancers and scholars gathered in Rawalpindi to honor the life and teachings of Hazrat Imam Zainul Abideen, focusing on his resilience and dedication to the Islamic faith. The event, marked by a procession and speeches, also became a platform for addressing broader issues of religious restrictions and the ongoing conflict in Para Chinar Karam Agency.

According to Tehreek Nafaze Fiqhe Jafariya, the gatherings underscored the importance of prayer and mourning in the Shia community, amidst growing concerns over governmental restrictions on religious gatherings within private boundaries. Speakers at the event criticized these measures as unconstitutional, urging the Punjab government to lift restrictions on Zikr Hussain, a religious observance central to Shia Islam. They argued that such limitations infringe on basic human rights and threatened the religious freedom of the community.

The event also highlighted the ongoing violence in Para Chinar, where continuous fighting has resulted in significant loss of life. The community leaders called for immediate governmental action to restore peace and prevent cross-border terrorism, emphasizing the need for security measures that protect civilians and uphold the sanctity of religious practices.
