Rawalpindi: The Punjab Arts Council, in collaboration with Bazm-e-Ahbab-e-Qalam Pakistan, organized a Jashn-eAzadi Mushaira to celebrate Pakistan’s Independence Day. The event featured prominent literary figures and poets who shared their works and thoughts in a vibrant display of patriotism and cultural heritage.
According to Punjab Arts Council, the Mushaira was presided over by Professor Dr. Abdul Aziz Sahir and featured Professor Shakir Kundan as the guest of honor, with Professor Obaid Bazgh Amar as the special guest. The event commenced with a recitation of the Holy Quran by Abdul Waheed Chishti and a Naat by Gul Afreen Sahiba. Throughout the evening, poets including Muhammad Akbar Niazi, Zeeshan Mehruvi, and Ali Asghar Samar, among others, recited poetry celebrating freedom and the nation’s heritage. The event also honored Ali Asghar Samar for his fifty years of literary service with an honorary shield.
