PU Library Book Club Organizes Lecture on Contemporary Literature

LAHORE: Punjab University Library Book Club organized a literary session, gathering faculty, students, researchers, and book enthusiasts to discuss contemporary literature and intellectual discourse. According to University of the Punjab, the event featured Chief Librarian Muhammad Asif Khan, Associate Professor Dr. Shahzeb Khan, former Chief Librarian Dr. Muhammad Haroon Usmani, and others.

Dr. Shahzeb Khan addressed the session, discussing the philosophical themes in Byung-Chul Han's book 'The Scent of Time,' emphasizing the impact of modern society's perception of time and the culture of haste. He highlighted the need for reflection and meaningful engagement in an era of digital distractions.

Dr. Muhammad Haroon Usmani shared insights on Iqbal Khursheed's 'Chhnal Aur Digar Afsanay,' appreciating its literary style and depiction of social realities and human emotions. He stressed the role of Urdu fiction in fostering critical thinking and preserving literary traditions.

Muhammad Asif Khan thanked the speakers and participants, underscoring the importance of such gatherings in promoting scholarly discussion and creative engagement. He reiterated the Library's dedication to future academic and literary activities.
