Prof Dr Tehmina Mustafa Explores One Health Research Collaboration at UVAS

Lahore: Prof Dr Tehmina Mustafa, a noted figure in global health from the University of Bergen, Norway, recently visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) in Lahore to discuss a collaborative research initiative on zoonotic disease surveillance. This initiative aims to address health issues at the interface between livestock and humans in Punjab.

According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Dr. Mustafa met with UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Masood Rabbani to explore the potential of a joint One Health research initiative. Their discussions focused on the study’s design, potential partnerships with hospitals and abattoirs, and securing joint funding from international agencies. Both institutions are hopeful that this collaboration will effectively bridge veterinary and human health research in Pakistan, paving the way for significant advancements in tackling zoonotic diseases.
