Shanghai: President Asif Ali Zardari held discussions with Zhu Xiaoping, CEO and Co-founder of SUS Environment Technology Co. Ltd., in Shanghai, seeking avenues for collaboration in modernizing waste management systems in Pakistan. The meeting, attended by several high-profile figures from both countries, centered on potential partnerships in urban waste management and waste-to-energy projects.
Joining President Zardari were First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Additional attendees included Senator Saleem Mandviwalla and Sindh Ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon and Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.
The dialogue focused on addressing Pakistan’s urgent need for advanced waste management systems, particularly in the province of Sindh. President Zardari emphasized the importance of these systems for sustainable urban development and expressed optimism about potential cooperation with Chinese firms.
Zhu Xiaoping outlined SUS Environment’s capabilities in advanced waste treatment and voiced a keen interest in exploring investment opportunities in Pakistan. The discussions signaled the potential for significant bilateral cooperation in environmental technology.
