Karachi, Asif Khan, Deputy Secretary Information of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Karachi Division, has firmly rejected the demands to postpone the upcoming presidential election, labeling such calls as illegal and unconstitutional. In his confidence in Asif Ali Zardari’s victory on March 9, Khan criticized the opposition’s push for delay, attributing it to their anticipated defeat.

According to Pakistan Peoples Party, during discussions with PPP leaders and workers at the NA-235 liaison office in Karachi East, Khan emphasized the pivotal role of Asif Zardari in championing democracy and described the upcoming election day as a momentous occasion signaling Zardari’s triumph similar to the ousting of former President Pervez Musharraf. He asserted that the PPP, under the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto, is committed to resolving the populace’s issues and heralding a new era of progress and unity.

Khan reflected on the resilience of the PPP and its leadership, particularly Asif Zardari, during challenging political and electoral periods, crediting him with the phrase “democracy is the best revenge.” He underscored Zardari’s significant influence in current national politics and public life, arguing that Pakistan’s path would have been different had it not been for the undemocratic conspiracies against the PPP.

The stance taken by the PPP Karachi Division signifies a strong opposition to any attempts at derailing the scheduled presidential election, framing it as a test for democracy and a potential turning point for the nation under the experienced guidance of Asif Ali Zardari and the broader party leadership.
