Lahore: The Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulema Council marked its 37th foundation day with nationwide celebrations, emphasizing the role of scholars in fostering interfaith tolerance, inter-sect harmony, and unity. The event, highlighted by ceremonies across various cities, showcased the Council’s longstanding commitment to the principles of the Quran and Sunnah.
According to Minhaj-Ul-Quran International announcement issued on 09 October 2024, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, founder and patron-in-chief, delivered a message praising the Council’s efforts in spreading love and respect for Allah, His Prophet (PBUH), the Ahl al-Bayt, and the Companions of the Prophet. He underscored the importance of the Council’s work in promoting peaceful and harmonious relations among different faiths and sects.
The central secretariat in Model Town hosted the main event, where Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council, lauded the Ulema Council’s contributions to national, religious, and societal development. He remarked on the Council’s success in disseminating the peaceful teachings of Islam throughout the country.
Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, also praised the Council, noting that scholars have a crucial role in teaching and moral upbringing in accordance with Islamic principles. The ceremony was attended by notable figures including Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Mufti Ghulam Asghar Siddiqui, and other distinguished members of the religious community.
The foundation day celebrations not only commemorated the Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulema Council’s past achievements but also reinforced their ongoing mission to build a more tolerant and cohesive society.
