Lahore: In a strategic move by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), top players including the celebrated former captain Babar Azam have been given a break from the national team. This decision is aimed at ensuring the players are mentally refreshed for future challenges, particularly with the demanding international cricket schedule ahead.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the selection of the squad for the upcoming Test series against England presented a significant challenge, given the need to balance current player form with strategic rest periods. The PCB emphasized that resting players like Babar Azam, Naseem Shah, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Shaheen Shah Afridi was crucial not only for their well-being but also for the long-term interests of Pakistan cricket.
