Karachi: The Awami Theatre Festival at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi continued to draw audiences with its recent presentations of "Watan Ki Mitti" and "Kanda Na baiya." On the 15th day of the festival, the stage play "Watan Ki Mitti" was showcased, followed by the Balochi drama "Kanda Na baiya" on the 16th day.
According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, "Watan Ki Mitti," written and directed by H. Iqbal, featured a cast including Shanzay, Sitara Zaidi, Faiza Malik, and others. The play revolved around a retired army officer, his two sons, and themes of patriotism and betrayal. The younger son's involvement in anti-state activities and the father's drastic actions to uphold national security highlighted the drama's central conflict. The play concluded with a poignant message on law and national duty.
The following day, "Kanda Na baiya," directed by Danish Baloch, took the stage. The drama portrayed the struggles of a poor family, with the head of the household being a former international boxer. The story focused on themes of perseverance and hope, with the family's grandson aspiring to bring prosperity to their area. The drama concluded with a message of optimism for the country's future, resonating with the audience through its final slogans of "Pakistan Zindabad."
