Pasban Democratic Party Denounces Arrest of Education Activist in Karachi

Karachi, The Pasban Democratic Party has publicly decried the arrest of Nadeem Mirza, Chairman of the Students Parents Federation of Pakistan, in what they label a baseless case orchestrated by the Hyderabad Police. The party’s Vice Chairman, Rafiq Khaskheli, calls for an impartial and high-level investigation into the matter.

According to Pasban Democratic Party, Khaskheli has appealed directly to the IG of Sindh for a transparent inquiry to be conducted by a reputable officer, asserting that the allegations against Mirza are unfounded. He argues that Mirza’s arrest, executed at 3 AM in Karachi, violates principles of justice and is a direct attack on his campaign against the irregularities within matriculation and intermediate boards as well as private schools.

Mirza has been known for his stand against the alleged corruption in the Sindh Education Department, and his arrest is seen as a vindictive measure by the department in retaliation for his efforts. The Pasban Democratic Party insists that the real culprits are corrupt officials within the department, who should be facing charges instead of Mirza.

The Vice Chairman has strongly condemned the alleged mistreatment of Mirza by the police, asserting that Mirza’s contributions to protecting the rights of students and parents are commendable. The party highlights that when coercive methods failed to deter Mirza, those opposed to his activism resorted to what the party views as manipulation of the legal system.

The statement released by Mirza’s family claims that the Hyderabad police apprehended him in Karachi under a false pretext, which has sparked outrage among his supporters and party members.
