LAHORE: Pakistan’s IT sector has the potential to achieve $30 billion in exports through proper resource utilization, according to Huzaifa Rehman, Minister of State for Heritage and Cultural Division and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister. Rehman made this statement during a ceremony organized in his honor by Punjab University at the Law College Auditorium.
Rehman, an alumnus of Punjab University, emphasized the importance of contributing to Pakistan’s development and prosperity. He reflected on the impact his education at the university had on his career, crediting his teachers and the institution for his success. The event was attended by Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, faculty members, and students.
In his address, Rehman highlighted the significance of education as a key to progress and success. He expressed satisfaction and joy in returning to his alma mater and praised the university for its conducive educational environment. He also paid tribute to his late teachers, Prof Dr Ahsan Akhtar Naz and Prof Dr Mughees-ud-din Sheikh, for their contributions to the university.
Prof Dr Muhammad Ali commended Rehman for his achievements, noting that his appointment to the federal cabinet at a young age is a source of pride for the institution. He encouraged students to emulate Rehman’s dedication and hard work, emphasizing the role of financial stability and technology in achieving success.
Prof Dr Abida Ashraf recognized Rehman as a role model for students, highlighting his dual journey as a journalist and student. She urged students to pursue their dreams with hard work, dedication, and honesty. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to Rehman in recognition of his accomplishments as a Punjab University alumnus.
