NAGOYA: The Pakistan men's and women's squash teams marked a successful start to the Asian Games 2026 in Nagoya, Japan, with both teams securing victories in their second matches of the day. The men's team has advanced to the quarterfinals following their win.

According to Pakistan Squash Federation, the men's team, competing in Pool B on Court 2, defeated Kuwait with a clean 3-0 victory. Nasir Iqbal led the charge against Jassim Alghareeb, winning 3-0 in just 20 minutes with scores of 11-4, 11-1, and 11-5. Noor Zaman overcame Ammar Altamimi 3-1 after dropping the first set, completing the match in 26 minutes with scores of 8-11, 11-6, 11-2, and 11-4. M. Ashab Irfan sealed the team's win by beating Bader Al Moghrebi 3-0 in a 27-minute match, with scores of 13-11, 11-5, and 11-9.

The women's team, also in Pool B and playing on Court 2, achieved a dominant 3-0 victory over Mongolia. Mehwish Ali defeated Khulan Bat-Erdene in 12 minutes with scores of 11-3, 11-2, and 11-3. Sana Bahadar maintained the momentum by besting Ariunbileg Altankhuyag in 13 minutes, securing a 3-0 win with scores of 11-4, 11-0, and 11-3. Mahnoor Ali concluded the winning streak by defeating Otgontuya Khasbaatar in just 10 minutes, with scores of 11-2, 11-2, and 11-2.

The women's team is set to face Korea tomorrow at 10:00 on Court 3 in Pool B. Both teams express optimism for their upcoming matches as they aim to continue their successful run in the tournament.
