According to Pakistan Peoples Party, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the significance of Indigenous knowledge, which is deeply intertwined with the lifestyles and surroundings of these communities. This knowledge has been instrumental in sustaining cultural traditions and preserving an understanding of nature, health, and the environment. The president highlighted Pakistan's commitment to protecting the rights of Indigenous Peoples, ensuring equal opportunities, and promoting cultural diversity as enshrined in the nation's Constitution.

The theme for this year's observance, "Honouring Indigenous Midwives: Safeguarding Life and Well-being," underscores the vital role of Indigenous midwives as caregivers and custodians of traditional wisdom. Their contributions not only preserve generational knowledge but also support the health and well-being of mothers, newborns, and families, particularly in remote areas with limited access to healthcare.

Pakistan's ratification of the UNESCO Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2005 and the UNESCO Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions in 2022 further demonstrates the country's dedication to cultural preservation. As the nation joins the global community in celebrating this day, it reaffirms its respect for Indigenous rights and cultures, advocating for their voices to be heard and their communities to be supported with dignity and security.
