Lahore: The women’s National Selection Committee has unveiled a 15-member Pakistan U19 squad for the ACC Women’s U19 T20 Asia Cup tournament, set to take place in Kuala Lumpur from December 15 to 22. Zoofishan Ayyaz has been appointed as the captain, with Komal Khan serving as the vice-captain, as stated in a press release.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the squad comprises top-order batters Areesha Ansari, Fizza Fiaz, Maham Anees, Ravail Farhan, and Zoofishan Ayyaz. Wicketkeeper-batters include Komal Khan and Wasifa Hussain, while the spinners are Aleesa Mukhtiar, Quratulain, Rozina Akram, and Tayyaba Imdad. The fast-bowling lineup features Fatima Khan, Haniah Ahmer, Mahnoor Zeb, and Shahar Bano.
The squad selection followed a 21-day skills and fitness camp involving 32 players, which included three intra-squad matches. Pakistan will commence the tournament against India on December 15, followed by a match against Nepal on December 16. Group B teams are Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Malaysia. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super-Four Stage scheduled for December 19 and 20, with the final match set for December 22 at Bayuemas Cricket Oval.
