Dhaka: Pakistan and Bangladesh are set to compete in a three-match T20I series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka, beginning this Sunday. The series will continue with fixtures on May 22 and May 24, with each match scheduled to start at 5 p.m. PKT following a 4:30 p.m. toss.
This marks Pakistan’s first cricket tour to Bangladesh since December 2021. The visiting team, led by Salman Ali Agha, arrived in Dhaka after a comprehensive training camp in Karachi. Agha, who has captained Pakistan in 12 T20Is, will lead the team in his fourth T20I series.
The spotlight will be on Pakistan’s uncapped pace bowlers, Ahmed Daniyal and Mohammad Salman Mirza, who are poised to make their international debuts. Pakistan’s last encounter with Bangladesh ended in a clean sweep at home, while Bangladesh enters the series after a 2-1 T20I victory in Sri Lanka.
Historically, Pakistan has dominated the head-to-head T20I record, winning 19 out of 22 matches against Bangladesh since their first clash in 2007. Captain Salman Ali Agha emphasized the importance of adapting to local conditions, stating, “Bangladesh are a tough opposition, especially in their home conditions.”
The T20I squads for the series have been announced, with Pakistan featuring names like Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Haris, while Bangladesh’s lineup includes captain Litton Das and Mustafizur Rahman.
