Punjab University Team Joins Global Athletes at World University Games 2025

LAHORE: Punjab University’s delegation is actively participating in the World University Games 2025 in Germany. The team, comprising six members, includes Punjab University Director Sports Dr. Shabbir Sarwar alongside athletes competing in various disciplines.

The delegation features athletes Nida Karim and Malalika Shahzadi in athletics, Sehar Waein in judo, Areeba Javed in taekwondo, and Moazama Hafeez in swimming. These athletes are part of the Higher Education Commission’s contingent representing the university.

Dr. Shabbir Sarwar expressed gratitude to HEC chairperson Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad and Director Sports Javed Memon for their support in including medal winners from both intervarsity and national levels. He also acknowledged the backing from PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali.

The World University Games are known for producing future Olympic athletes. The competitions are set to continue until July 27.
