Lahore: The Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) undertook an official visit to the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) to enhance the commercialization of research and strengthen connections between industry and academia. The meeting, led by Mr. Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, Senior Vice President of LCCI, included key figures such as Mr. Omer Saleem, Convener of Industry-Academia Linkages, and Mr. Kamran Saeed, Director of Research and Development, alongside other executive committee members.
According to University of Central Punjab, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhyar Farrukh, the Director of ORIC, showcased the University's commercialization initiatives and prototypes spanning the Food, Pharmaceutical, and Engineering sectors. The UCP delegation comprised several notable members including Dr. Ali Ahmad, Dr. Kanza Aziz Awan, and Hamid Bilal, among others. The meeting resulted in LCCI acknowledging UCP's contributions and proposing sector-specific meetups aimed at advancing research commercialization. Furthermore, LCCI extended opportunities for UCP to engage in project exhibitions and participate in startup competitions organized by the chamber.
