NCHD Joins Forces with University of Chitral to Combat Illiteracy

Chitral: The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) representative made a visit to the University of Chitral to advance the national literacy campaign, “Each One Teach One.” During the visit, the representative engaged in a meeting with the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Hazir Ullah, to discuss strategies for collaboration in the campaign.

The meeting centered on enlisting university students as volunteers in the nationwide initiative aimed at eradicating illiteracy, particularly in remote and underserved regions. The University of Chitral has committed to supporting the campaign by preparing students to actively participate.

University students are set to work with local communities, especially in the distant areas of Chitral, to identify and educate children not attending school as well as illiterate adults. This grassroots method seeks to provide educational opportunities to those previously neglected.

Dr. Sanaullah, Head of the Department of Sociology, and Dr. Attiq Tariq, Head of the Department of Education, have been designated as focal points for the project from the University of Chitral to ensure effective coordination of the initiative.
