Lahore, Liaqat Baloch, Naib Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, candidate for National Assembly from NA-123 and NA-128 Lahore, and Chairman of the Central Election Cell, addressed an election convention and central election advisory meeting. During his speech, Baloch condemned the recent terrorist attack in Iran on the anniversary of Qassem Soleimani and expressed solidarity with the people of Iran.
According to Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Baloch denounced the involvement of America and Israeli Zionists in global terrorism, citing the targeting of Qassem Soleimani and the incident in Kerman, Iran. He extended Pakistan’s condolences to Iran and emphasized the global consequences of unchecked Israeli Zionist aggression. Baloch highlighted the continuous targeting of innocent people in Gaza by Israeli and American forces and criticized the inaction of international organizations like the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Baloch also expressed concern over the ongoing incidents of terrorism in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, mentioning the targeted terrorist attack on Mohsin Dawar’s convoy. He called for a unified approach to combat terrorism, emphasizing the need to address weaknesses in security forces and to revisit the National Action Plan. Baloch stressed that neglecting these issues poses significant threats to national security and that defeating terrorism is a national commitment.
Moreover, Baloch highlighted the plight of families of missing persons from various provinces, who are protesting in Islamabad. He criticized the lack of response from the caretaker government, judiciary, and civil-military establishment, and described the situation as a humanitarian issue with genuine grounds for protest. Baloch urged that the problem should be addressed humanely, rather than using state power to disperse the protestors.
