Karachi: The Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi is gearing up to host the “World Culture Festival Karachi,” a month-long event starting on September 26, that will bring together cultural performers from around the globe, as announced during a press conference at Haseena Moin Hall.
According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the festival, one of the largest in Pakistan’s history, will include over 100 cultural performances by more than 350 artists from over 34 confirmed countries, such as the USA, UK, Germany, and India, among others. The event will showcase a wide array of cultural displays including theater, music, and dance, aiming to promote international unity through cultural exchange.
President Muhammad Ahmed Shah outlined the festival’s scope, highlighting that it will feature performances in various music and dance forms from across the continents, accompanied by workshops and talks. He emphasized the importance of cultural diversity and collaboration, noting the inclusion of traditional Pakistani arts such as Qawwali and classical dance, alongside international acts. The event will also facilitate interactions between international artists and local students, further enriching the cultural dialogue.
The announcement also touched on logistical aspects, such as the ongoing support from Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah for security arrangements and efforts to overcome visa issues, ensuring broad international participation. Renowned figures like Anwar Maqsood and theater director Khalid Ahmed voiced their support and enthusiasm for the festival’s potential to bring joy and global perspective to the local community.
