KARACHI: Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organized a special National Art Exhibition showcasing portraits of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in honor of his birth anniversary. The event, held at Ahmed Parvez Art Gallery, also included a briefing on the upcoming 18th Aalmi Urdu Conference 2025 – Jashan-e-Pakistan.
The exhibition was inaugurated by poet Iftikhar Arif and President of the Arts Council Muhammad Ahmed Shah. It featured portraits by 20 artists from across Pakistan, drawing significant attention from attendees. Notable figures in literature and art, including Nasir Abbas Nayyar and Shahid Rassam, were present at the opening ceremony.
During the event, Iftikhar Arif emphasized the impact of the Aalmi Urdu Conference on promoting Pakistani culture globally. He highlighted the importance of cultural diplomacy and the unity seen in Karachi.
President Muhammad Ahmed Shah spoke about the significance of the Quaid-e-Azam portrait exhibition coinciding with both his birth anniversary and Christmas. He detailed the continued success of the Urdu Conference, a cultural landmark since Pakistan’s inception in 1947.
Shah announced that the 18th Aalmi Urdu Conference would commence on December 25, featuring over 50 sessions across four days. The event will cover diverse topics such as literature, culture, leadership, and media in the digital age, offering a platform for writers and artists.
Key highlights include an international mushaira in memory of Benazir Bhutto, a theatre performance by Peerzada Salman, and a concluding qawwali session by Fareed Ayaz and Abu Muhammad. The conference will also host sessions on various Pakistani languages and cultural themes.
The Arts Council remains committed to fostering unity and cultural heritage, with Shah expressing gratitude to the media and participants for their support in organizing these initiatives.
