UET Lahore Hosts Christmas Ceremony to Honor Christian Community

Lahore: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore organized a cake cutting ceremony to commemorate Christmas, demonstrating solidarity with the Christian community and promoting national unity and prosperity. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Munir led the event, highlighting the contributions of Christian employees to the university and the country.

During the event, held at the Chemical Seminar Hall, Dr. Shahid Munir emphasized the equal rights of minorities in Pakistan, stating, “Our workers are our asset, and their services in the community cannot be denied, so we are with them in their happiness.” He also announced that salaries and advance payments were made to all Christian employees in recognition of their dedication.

Dr. Munir further stressed the importance of respecting all human beings, noting that both the state and Shariah law guarantee the rights of minorities. “We must value our Christian community,” he added, before joining Christian employees to cut the Christmas cake.

The ceremony was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasir Hayat, various faculty deans, the Registrar of UET, and other senior officials. Christian employees expressed appreciation for the Vice Chancellor’s participation and his supportive remarks regarding their rights.
