Karachi: In an exciting round of the Master Oil Inter Club Cricket Tournament, Jinnah Cricket Club and Paposh Nagar Cricket Club recorded significant victories. Jinnah CC outclassed Silwat Gymkhana by a massive 153 runs at Afza Ground, while Paposh Nagar overcame Khudadad Gymkhana by 84 runs at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium.
According to Regional Cricket Association Karachi, the tournament, sponsored by Master Oil Lubricants, featured stellar performances, including a notable century by Jalib Sheikh who scored 104 runs off 10 fours and 5 sixes to lead Jinnah CC. His teammate Raees Khan also contributed significantly with 81 runs. For Paposh Nagar, Rehan Islam was the top scorer with 47 runs. The bowling highlights included Touseef Akbar from Jinnah CC, who took 5 wickets for 35 runs, and Abdullah Babar of Paposh Nagar, who claimed 4 wickets for 44 runs.
Scores in brief show that in addition to Sheikh’s century, Jinnah CC tallied a strong 304/8 in their 40 overs. Silwat Gymkhana, in response, were bowled out for 156 runs. In the other match, Paposh Nagar set a target of 251/9, which proved too much for Khudadad Gymkhana, ending at 167/8.
