Jinnah and Paposhnagar Cricket Clubs Triumph in Master Oil Inter Club Tournament

Karachi: In an exciting sequence of events in the Master Oil Inter Club Cricket Tournament, Jinnah Cricket Club and Paposhnagar Cricket Club emerged victorious in their respective matches. In the highlight of the tournament, Jinnah Cricket Club defeated Salut Gymkhana by a massive 153 runs at Afza Ground. Paposhnagar Cricket Club also secured a win against Khudadad Gymkhana by 84 runs at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium.

According to Regional Cricket Association Karachi, the tournament, supported by Master Oil Lubricants, featured outstanding performances, notably a century by Jalib Sheikh. In the clash at Afza Ground, Jinnah Cricket Club set a formidable score of 304 runs, buoyed by Sheikh’s 104 off 65 balls. Other significant contributions came from Raees Khan with 81 and Shehryar Jadoon with 34. Salut Gymkhana, in reply, was bundled out for 156, despite Saifullah’s 49 and Daniyal Bilal’s 47. Taseef Akbar and Ammar Saleem were the pick of the bowlers for Jinnah, with figures of 5 for 35 and 3 for 23, respectively.

The contest at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium also saw an intense battle where Paposhnagar Cricket Club, after setting a target of 251, restricted Khudadad Gymkhana to 167. Rehan Islam topped the batting chart for Paposhnagar with 47 runs, while Muhammad Owais and Mirzam Khan were instrumental with the ball, taking three and two wickets respectively. Imran Khan’s 60 for Khudadad was in vain as his team fell short.
