Islamia University of Bahawalpur to Explore Pakistan-US Relations in Upcoming PhD Defense

Bahawalpur: The Department of Political Science at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur is set to host a Ph.D. open defense that delves into the intricacies of Pakistan-US relations, focusing on the asymmetric alliance and its challenges from 2000 to 2018. The defense, scheduled for September 12, 2024, at the university’s Baghdadul Jadeed Campus, promises to offer new insights into international alliances and their impacts on national autonomy and security.

According to The Islamia University of Bahawalpur Pakistan, the dissertation titled “International Alliances and Autonomy of Developing States: a Case of Pakistan-US Asymmetric Alliance and Challenges for Pakistan’s Internal and External Security (2000-2018)” will be defended by Ph.D. scholar Ashfaq Ahmad. The session will be supervised by Dr. Safdar Hussain, with Dr. Muhammad Azhar of Government College University Faisalabad serving as the external examiner.
