IOC Calls for Nominations for Coaches Lifetime Achievement Awards 2024

Islamabad: The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is inviting nominations for the 2024 Coaches Lifetime Achievement Awards, a prestigious recognition managed by the IOC Athletes’ Entourage Commission. The awards aim to honor outstanding coaches who have significantly contributed to the development of Olympic athletes, providing not just technical expertise but also mentorship and guidance.

According to Pakistan Olympic Association, these awards celebrate coaches who have gone above and beyond in nurturing athletes’ careers, upholding the Olympic values throughout their coaching tenure. Coaches eligible for nomination can be either active or retired but must have trained an athlete who has participated in at least one edition of the Summer or Winter Olympic Games.

The selection process will recognize one male and one female coach, highlighting the important role coaches play in athletes’ performances and personal growth. The IOC emphasizes the impact of coaches not only in the arena of competition but also in the broader aspects of athletes’ lives, supporting their journey within and outside of sport.

Nominations are open until 23 October 2024, with further details available on the IOC’s dedicated webpage. This initiative provides an opportunity for the sports community to acknowledge and celebrate the lifelong dedication and achievements of coaches around the globe.
