Karachi: The Institute of Business Management (IoBM) commemorated Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with a vibrant celebration on August 14, 2025. Attended by senior leadership, faculty, staff, students, and their families, the event was marked by patriotic fervor and a shared sense of national pride.
The ceremony commenced with the march-in of guards, followed by Mr. Talib Karim and Ms. Sabina Mohsin hoisting the national flag. The national anthem resonated throughout the campus, uniting attendees in a collective expression of patriotism.
In his address, Mr. Talib Karim, President of IoBM, paid homage to the sacrifices made during the 1947 migration, urging the audience to cherish the freedoms they enjoy. He emphasized the potential of Pakistan’s youth to propel the nation forward, highlighting the achievements of IoBM’s students and alumni as a testament to this potential.
The day’s activities included a campus plantation drive, underscoring IoBM’s commitment to sustainability. National songs were performed by faculty and students, with notable contributions from Prof. Dr. Tariq Rahim Soomro and Mr. Misbah Uddin, who invigorated the crowd with their renditions.
The event also celebrated the winners of the Female Faculty and Management Badminton Championship and the Male Faculty and Management Snooker Championship, with Dr. Tayyaba Fasih and Zafar Siddiqui taking top honors in their respective categories.
Festivities extended beyond formal proceedings, featuring fun activities like a jumping castle for children and various stalls offering food and handmade products. The celebrations concluded with a communal breakfast, leaving participants with a renewed sense of national pride.
