Bahawalpur, March 09, 2023 (PPI-OT): Islamia University Bahawalpur is one of the leading universities of Pakistan which is progressing in the light of vision and knowledge of Engineer Professor Dr. Athar Mehboob Vice Chancellor. In this context, a prestigious seminar and walk was organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day in the Department of Education.
This seminar and walk was organized under the chairmanship of Dean/Chairman of Education Department Prof. Dr. Irshad Hussain and the students of BS Education 6th Semester under the supervision of their instructor for “Human Rights” Dr. Syedah Tahmina Bukhari. The main objective of the event was to pay special tribute to the working women teachers.
On this occasion, Engineer Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob Vice Chancellor, while expressing his views, gave the message that more than half of our population consists of women who are the “happy Pakistan” of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal in the development of their country Pakistan.
They are playing an important role in fulfilling their dreams. Professor Dr. Irshad Hussain, Dean, Faculty of Education, while expressing his views on this occasion, said that in today’s era, women are actively participating in every field of life. Today’s women are also becoming doctors. Becoming a lawyer, teacher and engineer.
This is the beauty of women’s existence that Allah Almighty has given women the position and responsibility they are performing well. The organizer of the seminar, Dr. Syeda Tahmina Bukhari, while expressing her views in this event, said that the journey of survival of the human race on earth is beyond the jurisdiction of any one gender alone. Therefore, there is no justification for denying the importance of women.
Walk coordinator Dr. Sabiha Iqbal said that woman is a symbol of honour and dignity in every form and in every relationship. On this occasion, the students of the Department of Education paid tribute to their professional women teachers organized speeches and presented them with badges.
In the concluding remarks of the ceremony, Professor Dr. Irshad Hussain appreciated the efforts of all faculty members, students and emphasized that holding such seminars and walks play an important role in highlighting the positive role of women. A large number of faculty members and students of the Department of Education participated in the function.
